Roswell Park Care Network, the network of community practices associated with Roswell Park Cancer Institute, is seeking its next Executive Director of Operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development and Network Integration, the Executive Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring the efficient and consistent delivery of high-quality oncology care throughout the network while serving the unique needs of the local community. Roswell Park Care Network was established in 2012 with the acquisition of a community-based medical oncology/hematology practice; since its inception, the network has expanded to six practice locations, 164 employees (including 30 physicians and mid-level providers), seven affiliate partnerships across the state of New York and Pennsylvania, and is recognized by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) Certification program.
The Executive Director of Operations encompasses components of strategy, operations and financial tactics to drive strong practice performance, provide an exceptional patient experience, promote strategic program growth and development, and support physician relationship development. The Executive Director serves as an internal consultant to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and its physician leaders regarding the delivery of oncology care in the community and an integrated care experience across the entire organization. The Executive Director helps to grow and maintain a highly aligned and engaged group of physicians and is responsible for the development and maturation of oncology-focused and community practice based supportive services, external partnerships, and the integration of Roswell Park clinical research programs.
Established in 1898 in Buffalo, New York, Roswell Park Cancer Institute is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Upstate New York and is ranked #14 by US News & World Report – Best Hospitals for Cancer in 2020-2021. The Roswell Park clinical engine includes 142 dedicated cancer inpatient beds, over 300,000 outpatient visits annually, full surgical, diagnostic and treatment services and an oncology network that includes 15 locations across New York.
The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive experience within a community-based oncology or subspecialty practice, including a minimum of 18 months in a senior leadership role. A collaborative leadership style and experience building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders are essential. Bachelor’s degree is required with a Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
