The Cardiology & Informatics Specialist oversees the coding management of Invasive Cardiology Services and is responsible for collaborating with HIM to ensure policies and protocols related to Invasive Cardiology coding and billing to ensure compliance. The Cardiology & Informatics Specialist will create, revise, and maintains Cath Lab and/or EP Lab charge documents for professional and technical charges and ensure annual review of Charge master and CDM’s are completed and in line with current market. In addition, the Specialist will assist with the onboarding and monitoring of new physicians.
The Cardiology & Informatics Specialist can expect the following:
Billing/Charge Reconciliation Specialist activities to ensure accountability for all services performed and compliance with billing and internal standards is maintained.
Communicate with HIM when there are billing issues such as appending modifiers to aborted procedures or holding accounts due to CDM issues, etc.
Daily work requirements will include, but not be limited to: Daily charge reconciliation; Case resolution; case resolution reconciliation; verify procedures are billed accurately; charges entered daily to avoid late billing, unless validation required; data mismatch resolution; amend corrections within 24 hours when identified; resource to anonymize research reports before printing or uploading to medical records; DMS troubleshooting resource for end users.

EDUCATION - Bachelors or Equivalent Exp
Cert Coding Specialist (CCS), Cert Coding Spec Physician Bas (CCS-P), Cert Professional Coder (CPC), Cert Procedural Code - Hosp (CPC-H): Must have one of the following:
