Position Summary: The NPD Specialist Program Manager - Magnet/Pathways to Excellence will have primary organizational responsibility for all aspects of the ANCC Magnet/Pathways to Excellence application, designation and re-designation processes. The incumbent will develop a plan to ensure compliance and maintenance with Magnet/Pathways requirements throughout lifecycle of preparing for application, designation and re-designation. Functions as primary liaison with ANCC. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with administration, nurse leadership and all staff to ensure achievement of goals related to Magnet/PTE readiness. Identifies, develops and maintains comprehensive data management systems that support information submission to ANCC and enables accurate tracking of key performance indicators. This position operates independently under limited supervision. Work situations are varied with an emphasis on data management, accreditation documentation and professional writing, shared governance, program management, customer relations, standardization, communication, organization, prioritization, flexibility and creativity. Decisions are made in collaboration with the Executive Director. This position has extensive internal contact with department staff, nursing leaders and staff, physician leaders and MHS administration. External contacts include outside agencies, organizations, vendors and other entities that influence department objectives.
Minimum Requirements: 4 years acute care nursing practicePrior experience in a Magnet or Pathway to Excellence Program required3 years program management experience within an education role preferred3 years previous experience as unit educator, system educator, NPD Specialist/Generalist preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Master's degree in Nursing PhD in Nursing, DNP, or ARNP preferredLicensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of WashingtonANCC NPD specialty certification preferred; if not in possession at time of hire, must acquire within 2 years of hire
