This position is a part of our COVID-19 reactivation and works a combination of remote and on-site twice per week (Wed/Thurs) at 633 Third Ave New York, NY. Within Memorial Sloan Ketterings Digital Informatics and Technology Solutions (DigITs)department, were excited to recruit a passionate, pragmatic UX research lead to advance our transformation and help define the creative direction, development, and evolution of MSKsclinical and health consumer applications. As Lead Design Researcher , you will guide teams through a journey of human-centered research to uncover insights that contribute to all phases of the design process. Additionally, p rovid ing direction and vision around our research approach and deliverables to develop research best practices, advise on methods, support multiple product teams simultaneously, and lead activities that help facilitate hands-on design research. This includes but is not limited to stakeholder interviews, focus groups, user testing , usability testing and quantitative research. Responsibilities - Partner with product teams to understand their qualitative and quantitative needs or requirements
- Translate stakeholdersbusiness questions into human-centered ones
- Develop a playbook for UX research best practices
- Help maintain Dovetail research repository
- Analyzefindings and serve up relevant, actionable insights
- Identify and empathize with customer needs, motivations & behaviorsand let those inform design decisions
- Work well with business analystsand product teamsand successfully incorporate business requirements/goals intoresearch
- Design and plan research, including recruiting users, experts, and analogous companies and services
- Analyze user research findings and solve for pain points with better experience design
- Advocate for the usage of UX research and usability testing
- Collaborate productively with senior design and technical staff as a key member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrate strong self-management skills and envision solutions for anticipated challenges
- Test concepts and prototypes, and iterate the design based on user feedback.
- Keep current on UX research trends and philosophies to bring energy and fresh approaches to each project
- Work with other teams to create and iterate concepts on short Agile timelines
- Support development of the Design Research practice across the community

Relevant Experience - Minimum10+ years of userresearchexperience with strong knowledge of information design principles & methodology
- Experience managing and creating UX research methods and best practices
- Experience with complex transactional interfaces, taxonomies and metadata
- Detail-oriented, with highly developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Demonstrable experience of how to interpret qualitative and quantitativeresearch
- High level of experience with recognizing complex business challenges
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Familiar with tools like Amplitude Analytics,Pendo,Heap,Mixpanel,Smartlook, orGainsight PX for product analytics
- Ability to translate outputs and outcomes into compelling written presentations
