The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), a national association located in Pittsburgh, is seeking an Instructional Designer to support and enhance learner engagement and learning experiences utilizing a variety of strategies and technologies. This grant-supported position is a part-time temporary contract role (20 hours per week, 3-6 months), which may be repeated or extended based on future grants.
As HPNA's Instructional Designer, you will:
Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs.
Apply tested instructional design theories, practices and methods to enhance the learner experience.
Develop exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
Develop assessment instruments as appropriate for specific projects.
Maintain project documentation and course files and create reports necessary to evaluate outcomes of education plan.
Minimum 3 years experience in instructional design and learning technology
Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
HTML and Flash programming knowledge
Knowledge of course development software and LMS platforms
Visual design storyboarding skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Self-directed, motivated, and strong project management skills
Demonstrated skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency in distance learning technology and social media
Ability to manage team-based projects
Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field
