The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Director of Broward Addiction Recovery Center THIS POSTING WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF APPLICANTS IS RECEIVED.
The purpose of this class within the organization is to oversee the operations of a coordinated network of substance abuse sites.
This class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Administers the County's comprehensive substance abuse treatment services; directs, through subordinates, the planning, scheduling and coordination of division activities; develops policies, procedures, and priorities to meet established goals.
Coordinates with state, federal, county, and private agencies in planning and improving community services; develops, implements, and maintains strategic, fiscal and capital improvement plans for the division; develops and implements strategic plans to seek grants and funding opportunities to increase the division services.
Implements internal controls and a quality assurance management strategy to promote and ensure excellence of service delivery.
Supports the Human Services Department Business Plan and implements the areas related to the division; prepares and monitors the Division budget and prepares special reports as required.
Attends conferences and public and professional meetings related to health care management and health education.
Performs related work as assigned.
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human services, health, or public administration or closely related field; Master's degree preferred. Additionally, clinical licensure and/or substance abuse certification preferred.
Requires nine (9) years’ experience in a social service organization including six (6) years of high level leadership and administrative or closely related experience.
